Prince Edward County Basketeers

It is with regret that the PEC Chapter of Basketeers announce we will not be holding our annual drive this November.  The need has not changed - but the personal circumstances of some key volunteers have made organizing anything for this year very difficult.  We sincerely thank both past donors, and prospective donors, for their interest and support.  The donations made have brightened the lives of many women served by Alternatives for Women, and has facilitated many new beginnings.  We will renew our Chapter's efforts in 2017, and we hope we can count on your participation then.

Sincerely, Kim and Helene

Welcome to Prince Edward County Basketeers

Strong and healthy communities don't just happen. Basketeers is an exciting initiative actively engaging people in building caring communities, by focusing on helping women who have suffered from violence and abuse. Through the donations of the many involved, women are provided with essential items they need to create safe, healthy, and positive environments for themselves and their children.

By participating in the Basketeers' program, you are not only helping enable women in your community get a fresh start, you are offering them much-needed moral support - support that will go a long way to boosting their confidence and helping ensure their success in the long-term.

Prince Edward County is fortunate to have Alternatives for Women, an agency providing a range of services and support for women breaking free from domestic violence. Programs offered include crisis intervention, safety planning, individual and group counselling, and a second stage housing program. But the problem is deep-rooted. Working together with Alternatives for Women, we can help eliminate some of the barriers women can face in their journey to a new life.

Please join in our Basketeers' effort!

With heartfelt thanks,

Kim, Helene and Sue
